Cooking Tips

The rich marbling of WinterFrost American Wagyu Beef requires a light touch. Follow our tips for perfect results, every time.

  • For best results, let the beef rest for at least 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature. This ensures a more even cooking and better guarantee of hitting the right temperature in the middle.

  • To achieve the best flavor, season your beef well in advance of cook time. For steaks, give your seasoning plenty of time to penetrate the beef by seasoning four hours in advance. With ground beef, mix half of your seasoning directly into the beef. Right before cook time, sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the top.

  • Grill or pan-fry on medium-high heat, about 3 minutes per side. Remove the meat from direct head and either finish on a higher rack in the barbecue with the top closed or in a 350° F oven.

After cooking to desired temperature (WinterFrost American Wagyu Beef shines at medium-rare), let your beef rest for 5–10 minutes before cutting or serving.

Caution: The higher fat content of WinterFrost may lead to flare-ups on the grill, especially with the ground beef. Watch for these and simply move the beef around to new spots on the grill and continue cooking.

Pro Tip: When cooking for a crowd, sear your meat ahead of time and then refrigerate. When you are ready to serve, simply finish in a 350° F oven. This keeps you free to host your guests or focus more on additional dishes.
