As many Transferors may be used for any migration, each one creates its own log file, named transferor#.log where # is the ID of the Transferor. By default the transferor logs are saved to the Log folder in the Alter-Ego program path, or as set in the configuration dialog.
The Transferor log contains the individual steps performed by each Transferor component during an Alter-Ego migration. The detail level of the logs can also be set through the logging level in the configuration dialog. Each subsequent migration is appended to the same log file. Log files are safe to delete after a successful migration or if they are not needed for troubleshooting.
All logs are simple ASCII text files which can be opened with Notepad, WordPad or any other text editor of your choice. Under View -> Transferor Logs each log in the logs folder will be listed as a separate entry. Clicking any one of them will open it using the default text editor on the console system. The Transferor log file begins with a header stating the current version of the Transferor component, the date/time stamp that logging began, and the level of logging detail.
