Ping Test
The Ping Test is provided to allow users to verify basic netowrk connectivity
between the console
and all clients
before proceeding with a
migration.
A Ping Test may be blocked by client-side firewalls. Please
ensure that client firewalls are configured to allow ICMP echo response before proceeding.
Step-by-Step
- From the console menu, click Tools -> Tests -> Start Ping Client Test.
- Each client will be pinged with 32 bytes of data, in the order it was added to the computer pane.
- The ping test results are displayed in the Progress Log in the right-hand pane of the console screen,
while the icons for each computer in the computer pane are also udpated to vidually reflect the ping status
of each client:
A black computer has not yet been pinged.
A green computer has been pinged successfully. The response time
is specified in the Progress Log.
A red computer has failed the ping test. Details are shown in the
Progress Log.
- To close the test, click the Done button.
- To cancel the test, click Tools -> Tests -> Stop Ping Client Test in the console menu or click the
Cancel button to return the console to normal operation.
