Easy Setup Wizard - Domain Change Only

This document provides a step-by-step guide on how to use the Easy Setup Wizard to configure global settings for a migration in which PCs are moved between domains or workgroups without any profile changes.

Step-by-Step

Start the Easy Setup Wizard by clicking on Tools -> Easy Setup Wizard....
The introduction screen explains what the Wizard will do. Click Next >>.
Select Domain Change Only. Click Next >>.
Select the migration destination: choose Domain or Workgroup, enter the destination Domain/Workgroup name, and in the case of a Domain migration, a Domain controller name and IP address. The Lookup button can be used to determine the domain controller IP if it is not known. When finished, click Next >>.
The custom options for the migration are presented. For a Domain Migration Only these options cannot be changed:
- Allow Alter-Ego to reboot target computers if necessary. Some operations may require the computer to rebooted to enable a smooth migration. To complete a domain join PCs must be rebooted, so this option is forced on.
- Force applications closed during reboot. This option is only available if the previous option was selected. Forcing applications closed will ensure a clean reboot to ensure a successful migration. In order to ensure a clean domain join, this option is forced on.
Click Next >>.
You may choose to import Client computers from Active Directory or from a CSV file. You may also choose to skip this step and add the Clients manually. When finished, click Next >>.
Next you can run the Authentication Wizard which will configure the various security accounts required to complete your migration. When finished, click Next >>.
The Easy Setup Wizard is complete. Click Finish.
