Computers are added to the console tree using the New Computer button on the main console screen or by importing from Active Directory or importing from file.
After clicking the New Computer button, a new computer is created and assigned a temporary name, New Computer #. The name is automatically highlighted and ready to edit. The new node must be named with a valid network-resolvable name as this is the name Alter-Ego will use for all network communication. Typically this will be the actual Windows computer name, though an alternate name could be used if an appropriate WINS or DNS alias, HOSTS/LMHOSTS entry, or other means of name resolution exists on the console. If using DNS names, enter the host name only -- fully-qualified domain names are not supported. Additionally, every computer name in the tree must be unique.
